Agreed on that last one, although you could euphemize and call it “confidence”. You’ve got to put your writing out there to be attacked, praised, interpreted and “mis”-interpreted, or worst of all ignored. It takes some arrogance to go ahead with that, some willingness to believe that What You Say Matters Damn It!.
